Emily welcomes all patients with concerns related to gynaecology (‘women’s health’).

Thanks to extra training and expertise in the field of Abdominal Wall Neuropathy. She welcomes referrals for non-gynaecological patients regarding Anterior Cutaneous Nerve Entrapment Syndrome.

2. Emily appreciates that patients often present having already decided what surgical treatments they would like to discuss. Here is a condensed list of the procedures she offers at an expert level, after appropriate counselling.

  • Laparoscopy (keyhole surgery) for

    • Endometriosis

    • Hysterectomy*

    • Ovarian issues*

    • Fallopian tubal issues

    • Ectopic pregnancy

    *Emily is a level 6 laparoscopic surgeon (highest accreditation in Australia and New Zealand), but in the event that your procedure must be performed via the open route, she can confidently provide this.

  • Laparoscopy or open surgery for particular fibroids.

  • Hysteroscopy (telescopic treatment of issues within the uterine lining) for

    • Diagnosis for abnormal bleeding.

    • Removal of polyps.

    • Removal of fibroids

    • Endometrial ablation

    • Treatment of adhesions

    • Treatment for anatomical variations such as uterine septum.

    • Treatment of intrauterine device issues. 

  • Cervix, vagina, vulva treatments

    • Colposcopy

    • Treatment of pre-cancerous lesions – e.g. Large Loop Excision of the Transformation Zone, cone biopsy, wide local excision.

    • Treatment of cysts – Bartholin’s, Gartner’s, Skene’s.

    • Vestibulectomy for provoked vestibuodynia or lichen sclerosus.

  • Management of miscarriage, unplanned pregnancy or retained products of conception

  • Colposcopy (microscopic assessment following abnormal cervical smear/HPV testing).

  • Abdominal wall pain treatments

    • Ultrasound-guided transabdominal plane nerve blocks

      • Including in pregnancy.

  • Minor operations in the clinic

    • Biopsies of the endometrium, cervix, vagina or vulva.

    • Insertion and removal of intrauterine device (eg Mirena, copper IUD)

    • Treatment of Bartholin’s cysts

3. Emily wants to be the best surgeon for your case. As her operative focus is not prolapse, she refers her patients requiring operative management of urinary incontinence or prolapse to specialists in the field.
